In case you haven’t already felt your schadenfreude

Hockey mom booed by serious hockey fans.  Palin is on record as stating, before the incident, that she was going to put her youngest daughter in a Philly Flyers jersey so people would not boo her.  Wow now that’s concerned parenting!    Great article on the below

Cultural Quicksand and the Can of Worms

Sure, they may have freshly minted Rove-bot Palin on board as the “new” face of the grand old party but she hasn’t freshened up the joint in the least.  We long to see this can of worms they’re opening crawl back to home base and eat away the rest of their decaying platform.

The Pa-in ticket is stepping into some very sticky (dangerous, really) territory stating that Obama “pals around with terrorists“.  This is McCarthyistic at best, and not a very modern party approach to campaigning. We would think guilt by association is something the McCain campaign would prefer to avoid (*cough* Keating 5 for a start *cough*  Ted Stevens *cough* Troopergate* *George W. Bush* Etc. Cough Ahem You Betcha).  Additionally, we would think this only displays their cold war era thinking, further pointing out how decrepit the ticket is.  This puts us in mind of the shameful COINTELPRO operations that were deemed unconstitutional.

McCain has a variety of bad associations (here, and of course here) and rather poor past actions in his personal life while  Palin has brought some less than stellar associations along with her.  Just a couple examples:  the minister known for doing “Spiritual Battle” in Kenya with a “witch” and her own husband who was involved with those gosh darned secessionists in Alaska.

Updated to add @ 9:20pm PST  apparently I’m not the only one thinking/speaking/blogging these things!

Tere’s a good example with Paul Begala on Meet the Press, we found a link on Youtube but we know your fingers aren’t broken if you’d like to seek it out.

Pass it on.

Or clicking here

Really.  We are absolutely *certain* there is someone in your life right now that can benefit from at least part of this empassioned plea and speech from AFL-CIO’s Richard Trumk, most important is this little moment within the commentary: “We (labor union people, workers) know better than anyone else how racism is used to divide working people”
